reboot no display

About a week ago, my computer started encountering this error. I turn on the computer, I get the windows XP message, and then the screen goes black and the monitor says no signal. I reseated the video card(FX 5200), but still had the same error. I booted into safe mode, and the display worked fine. I deleted all the display drivers, but still had the same error. I tried restoring last good configuration, but that didnt do anything. I decided to reinstall windows xp today becuase I planned on doing that anyway, so I figured it was worth a try. The install went well, but now the same error occurs. It says Windows XP, and then when it boots into Windows the screen is blank, but the computer still works. I am able to see everything fine in safe mode though. I'm not sure what else to try, anybody have any ideas?

did you get a particular error message when this started happening.

If you have access to another monitor, try another monitor

try this, boot into safe mode and then start, run, settings, control panel, system, hardware tab and click device mgr - go down to dislpay adatpers, right click on your video card (display aadapter) and right click and choose uninstall. Close all windows and reboot.

hopefully some progress can be made here
