Pay to call JBeaucaire for advice ($.75/min) | All keyboards, or just the one you had originally?
Unplug, replug the keyboard, restart computer. Try a different keyboard.
Any better? |

| Shutdown your laptop. Start it up and as soon as it begins to show the boot process on your screen, hit F8 until you get a screen that asks how you want to start Windows. Choose the first option (DOS mode) and when it finally gets to your desktop, go to Add/Remove programs and delete the download program for your screensaver.
Reboot the machine and see if this helps.
While you are in this mode, run your Anti-Virus and Anti Spyware programs as you might have downloaded some malware that is inhibiting the computer's operation. |

| The keyboard should engage at time of bootup. A download of a screensave should not affect the physical operation of a keyboard, so something else is the problem. Did you maybe spill something on the keyboard? It may be the tactil film under the keyboard that might be the problem. If so this will need to be looked at by a repair shop. |

| I really don't think it's software that is the problem. I can't think of any virus or malware that engages at boot time. If you can't get F8 to work it stands to reason that any other key does not work.
Try a "wireless" keyboard if you can. Plug in a USB connector that comes with it and see if you can manage to use it this way. If you can and you don't have problems, then I'd take it in to get it checked. |

| restart the computer and when the comupter restarts, tap the F8 key every 1 sec
you should come to a boot menu, choose safe mode
once in safe mode, uninstall the screensaver and then restart the pc
hope this helps, post back if you can |
