Hp desktop crash

My HP desktop, running Windows XP crashed. I am getting the following error message Error: NTLDR is compressed. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart
WHen I press C_A_D, it just goes to the error message again.... and cycles like that.

I have gone to the HP website and read the instructions, but don't have the recovery disks. The instructions on the second half of the page don;t seem to work.... any ideas??

THX

But I DOn't have the XP disk....Hp's don't come with one. They have it on a partition and you make about a dozen recivery disks- which have been long-since scattered. I got past that part... now it hangs up on the start-ip right after the finish button....
