How to fix audio problems

Hi,i have a dell i had windows home edition already pre installed then i re-installed new windows, after a really bad virus i installed windows pro after i finished installing windows i did not have any audio so i bought this program called Driver Magician it scan for driver updates i downloaded the audio after i try to install but then i got this message saying this [IMG]http://www.lumanate.com/aspx/Images/DeviceManager/DriverInstallWarning.jpg can someone please help i cant live without any sound

start, settings, control panel, system, then hardware tab and device mgr.

go down the list, you probably have a yellow mark next to an audio device
right click on items that have yellow mark next to them and choose, uninstall and say OK

Now if you do not have any yellow marks, click on the plus sign next to sound/game controllers and reight click on you audio device/driver and shoose uninstall

once sound drivers are uninstalled, close all windows and then restart pc

on restart, windows will install a generic sound driver that should work for you

once back in windows check your sound
