Computer won't boot, but power light blinks

So I have this computer. It worked just fine for a while. But now it starts up, boots up into Windows just fine. After about 2 minutes or so, the computer will just randomly turn off.

The power light will start blinking, constantly, once a second or so. I hit the power button, nothing happens. I unplug the computer, plug it right back in, still the same problem.

If I unplug the power supply for 10+ seconds, then plug it back in, it will turn on, then immediately turn off even before posting. Light will be blinking blue.

If I leave it unplugged for like an hour, it will boot up into Windows... rinse repeat.

I tried chaning power supply, no good. I don't think its a heat issue, because the system ran just fine for... a good few months with exactly the same stuff. Just as a precaution I did dust the whole case out, even though there wasn't much dust. Didn't help. I reapplied the HFS with arctic silver, no good. Not sure what the heck is going on. Any ideas?

Thanks,
shanepez

Retest the power supplies you have been using. Check the power rating of your power supplies. You may be overtaxing the power supply. Another thing to check is if the motherboard is seated properly on the case and not shorting out. Or buy a new computer.LOL

I have the same problem. It is not your power supply. Remove your cmos battery for about 5 minutes. Before putting it back in, disconnect the internet (mine appears to generate traffic b4 booting so I don't trust it) and reconnect the power cord. Now look at your power button. It should be blinking quickly. After about 15-30 seconds the pc will boot. This next part I do not like but it is the only way I can make it work normal again. Next I reinstall the battery while the pc's boot menu is on screen. reset the clock and boot.

I have yet to find out why it does this. Hope this was a little helpful.
