wisdom tooth and now a hole

i got wisdom tooth pulled and now theres a huge hole i keep getting food and stuck in it.. shouldnt it of closed up or something? The denitst never gave me any sitiches either is that the whats wrong and what do i do .. is this normal..

well, a hole in a pulled tooth is normal, as it will fill and heal over time.

I am a bit surprised that your dentist didn't stitch you up...I'm assuming he didn't have to surgically remove it? Just a simple tug and pull?

It's not uncommon for sutures not to be placed if the tooth was fully erupted. As for the hole, call your dentist and ask him for a "Monoject syringe". This is a larger syringe with a curved plastic tip. Fill it with warm water and GENTLY flush food debris out of the socket.
You want to keep this area free of food debris that won't dissolve and rinse out easily.
