| Root Canal Perforation and Crown Lengthening I had a root canal on a tooth that was chronically bleeding around the gum and had chronic oder with this. Antibiotics would clear it for awhile. When the root canal was done, the dentist went too far with the probe(?) and it bled a lot. He could not proceed with the root canal because of the bleeding and then I had to go back in a couple of days to complete the post and core. Further pain resulted in a REDO of the root canal. I have had additional infections. After being told I needed to proceed with a permanent crown, I was told I need a crown lengtening to finish the crown. I think that this may be related to the perforation. I've read some stuff about this.
Is my dentist covering up perforation with this procedure or is it just a coincidence that I need this surgery too? I am going to have to pay $500 for the procedure.
Any advise and information is greatly appreciated.
