Jaw Hurting

I was punched yesterday in the jaw by accident and now my left side teeth and left jaw hurt whenever I chew and yawn. Any ideas how long this will take to heal and whether or not I should see a dentist/doctor?

Ouch! I dnt know for sure how long that will hurt but it will probably hurt longer than you wish it to. Yes, go see a dentist right away.

Aww, I was hoping that it would heal in a few days.. It hurt a lot the first few hours I was hit, but the pain reduced from time to time. However, it still hurts when I chew and yawn. I am pretty busy for the next week so I don't think I can make it to the dentist, but is it possible it will heal by then?

When you say pretty busy what does that mean exactly? There must be something at of one of those days you can reschedule. Your health is more important. What if something is really messed up? Before things get out of hand go to the dentist. Dont make me drag you there cause i will come through this screen.

LOL for one reason, there is a transportation strike at where I live, so it's a lot of trouble to get to my dentist, and the other reason is that I have LOTS of school finals to study for. I really really hope it heals in a few days or less!!!!!!!

Transportation strike!? well,I feel sorry for anyone else who is in your condition or worse. I hope you get to a dentist and get better soon. you know theres bound to be someone in this forum who ticked someone off and got puched in the jaw who might also be able to tell you exactly how long it takes to heal. Good luck on those finals.
