Gums and lips turning purple

Hi,

My gums have always been pink. A few days ago I noticed that they are lighter with some dark spots. My lip have also changed from pink to pink with a dark line around them. It looks like I have a natural purple lip liner.

What could cause this? I have been on Plaquenil (Hydroxichloroquine for about 3-4 months). I have sjogrens syndrome. Could this be part of it.

I am worried.

noris

Your best bet would be to talk to your doctor, he knows your medical history, the medications you are on and the possible side effects. If it isn't because of the meds then the doctor can do tests to determine what is going on.

Good luck.
