    Crack cocaine and teeth
I was wondering what are the effects of crack cocaine and teeth? What does it do? I have heard that when smoking crack, it turns your teeth grey or even black. Is this true and if it is, are there any sites that have pictures of teeth that have been exposed to cronic crack smoke? Please help:confused:

Crack rots your teeth like Meth. Not quite as bad but... the reason that it turns teeth grey or black is because the tooth is dying or dead. It eats them away. People will get cavities on the back or sides of the tooth, not usually in the front. And I'm sure it's quite painful. And the heat from smoking crack will cause an exposed root to burn with pain.

I quit using crack 9 months ago and my teeth are in serious trouble. They are not gray black but there are 2 broken ones, I have many cavaties and a lot of pain. The problem being is I have no dental insurance and I don't want men to be discusted with my teeth. I never even had a cavity until 3 years ago!

You really need to have the teeth addressed. If you are having pain the cavities are probably close to the nerve. If the nerve gets infected the infection can affect your whole body and make you very ill. Don't worry about anyone being disgusted by your mouth, I am sure they will have seen worse.

I hate how people put photos of horrible health problems without explaining how underlying health problems, intensity of abuse, and other scientific factors contributed to the end effect. Crack cocaine is not a toy and full of additives but if you were smoking pure cocaine:"A common but untrue belief is that the smoking of cocaine chemically breaks down tooth enamel and causes tooth decay. However, cocaine does often cause involuntary tooth grinding, known as bruxism, which can deteriorate tooth enamel and lead to gingivitis.[15] Additionally, stimulants like cocaine, methamphetamine, and even caffeine cause dehydration and dry mouth. Since saliva is an important mechanism in maintaining one's oral pH level, chronic stimulant abusers who do not hydrate sufficiently may experience demineralization of their teeth due to the pH of the tooth surface dropping too low (below 5.5)."- Wikipedia
