Can I have funeral visitation in my own home, in Ontario?

I live in Ontario. Can I have funeral visitation in my own home, rather than a funeral home? Just like in the old days?

I do wish I could answer your question with specificity. In the US you can...the only restrictions applying to burial site.

Somewhere I have information on an organization advocating for in-home visitation including corpse preparation. I'll try and find that although not certain it will be applicable to your location.

In the meantime perhaps someone more versed in your local jurisdiction can advise.

It's OK to ask a local funeral home even if you don't use their services. They know all the laws.

Joypulv cut right through the problem. Any local funeral establishment can, is capable of, and required to advise of the legal requirements. By far your best and most available resource.
