Uncertain future

I have been dating the same girl since we were in college. We started dating her when I was 20 and she was 19. We had our problems like every young couple has, but my temper was really bad and I tend to be the meanest to the people I care most about. Now we have both graduated from college and live in the same city. We both work, but recently she was acting weird so I asked her about it. She told me that even though I have grown up and matured and that I treat her like a queen now, she still has some resentment in the back of her conscience towards me about how I treated he at certain times while we were in school. I acknowledge that I didn't always treat her how she deserved to be treated because she is amazing, I want to be a better person and treat her like she deserves. However she says she needs time to figure things out and needs a little space. This has been really difficult for me because we still talk and say we love you to each other when our conversations end. This girl is my best friend and I love her with all of my heart and I don't want to lose her. I would really appreciate any words of wisdom anyone might have on how I could handle this situation and not lose the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Give her what she asked for.
Dont be pushy or needy, give her space but on the other hand still show her you are there for and you still and always love her.

And always try your best to be your best with her. There is no need to be mean especially towards people you love, show her you are not that man anymore.

if you really want to make up for it take her out to a real nice place then to a movie or something. when you pick her up have flowers in hand and while you two are at dinner be sure to tell her how you feel about how you acted back in the day and that you want to show her you have really changed even though she already knows this and yes she does need time the female mind has trouble forgetting what has happened in the past and just let her know you understand and just be there for her it's just hard for females to trust men once they have been hurt physicaly, menatly, or emotionaly.

i not sure whether u aware that hot temper can be scary to everybody??especially towards your loved one..saying sorry..it doesnt help for your future at all.when you said u wanna become a better person then do it..is not provide the material...but your behaviour.since she said that she needs some space...not choice..give but not giving up since you really like her so much!!!!!!
when you say 'i love you'..izzit from your heart or already become a routine for both of u to say out??
