Was he dropping me a V-day hint or what?

Hi,

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me....I am talking to a guy who is overseas for a few months (we met right before he was deployed)...anyhoo, we have been emailing and recently he seems more interested in me and is being more flirty. We went on a few dates before he left and got a little intimate. He emailed me a couple of days ago and said "by the way, i'll be leaving here and will be home by valentines day"...kind of made me think he was dropping a hint, like he maybe wanted to get together then?? I wasn't sure so i just said something general like "that's awesome you are coming home sooner" and left it at that. I didn't want to just assume that was what he meant when he didn't come right out and say that. This is a guy that i really like and would love to get to know better. Any help or insight you can give me would be great. Did i do the right thing by trying to play it nonchalant???? =)

It sounds like he was dropping a hint.
He probably wants to spend V-day with you and was throwing out the idea to see what kind of response he'd get.
You did great by not insinuating anything but expressing excitement that he is coming home.
You did good
