Guys: Do you have a "type"?

First, there is physically: are you attracted primarily to either short or tall, thin or meaty? How about hair color and face shape? Is there a strong pattern? Or do you fall for all sorts of different types? Or lo, do you prefer variety even?

What about personality? When you reflect on your ex-gfs critically w/o trying to be pc, do you see patterns?

There is no need to "bump" a post. It does not get "bumped" to the head of the line again. It will be answered if someone wants to answer it, regardless. It's only been an hour, and it's night time for most members.

MOWERMAN2468 agrees: thanks, ch....momma. some folks have absolutely no patience.

Seriously, what's up? You already know the answers are going to be "yes" and "no". Every single person who answers will have a type they prefer and then will tell you if they followed that type. Probably split.

And types are physical, geographical, emotional, occupational, this topic is like shooting an arrow in the air...it's going to go wherever.

So, what's really on your mind? Anything happening in your life that is frustrating you about the guys you think are your type?

MOWERMAN2468 agrees: and there you have the answers.

I'll try to appease the OP by saying...that I don't really have a type. I'll describe my exes (by exes, I mean relationship exes. I'll spare the one-nighters)

1. 4'10" asian girl with a very petite body and a very small and cute face. She had long straight black hair. She was an avid environmentalist. ...I was not.

2. 5'8" middle eastern girl...caramel skin. VERY skinny...possibly weighing around 105 lbs. Again, long straight black hair.

3. 5'4" asian girl. Curvy body. Long straight black hair.

4. 5'4" asian girl. curvy body. long straight black hair.

5. 5'5" persian girl. light skin. skinny build. WAVY black hair.

...holy smokes batman...I almost saw a trend. whew.

dude ISneezeBatman, are you joking? I totally see a trend there.

They're all relatively petite, black hair, and "exotic" (persian and middle eastern is not so far from Asian, either. Actually, most middle eastern people have ancestors who are asian, african, and sometimes caucasian as well). I bet they all had more similar faces than do most people, too.

Granted, those are only the girls I've been in relationships with for more than 6 months. I've also dated a mix of people. I'm an equal opportunity dater.

Yeah but ISneeze, isn't the point of "a type" more about what "works for you" as opposed to what you'd take a shot at?

You dated other types, and then for some reason decided they just didn't do it for you, or else you'd have been with them longer. Right?

true, I'll give you that. I'm not sure how "types" work for me. It must be something that attracts me to them...but I think it was more towards their personality rather than their looks.

#1, 2, and 4 were those "nice, innocent" girls who've never had a boyfriend before. They were sweet, intellectual, and just overall were "good girls."

#3 and #5 reminded me so much of each other that after #4, when I met #5, I thought I had run into #3! However, both, very much party girls...kinda blunt/in your face types of girls.

I could categorize them by different things: height...whether they had money or not...career choice...looks...personality...what kind of car they drove...etc.

Perhaps you're right that some guys do have a type, but rather saying that they actually have a type, it may be better to say that guys end up going after "similar" girls...doesn't mean that they'll ONLY go after those or ONLY stay with those.

Instead of saying, "this person likes only multi-grain bread" it may be better to say, "this person ends up only getting multi-grain bread"...that person may never know whether or not they'll enjoy honey oat.

enough bread talk.
