i went through the same situation... what i have realised is you shouldve told him when he asked you out is that you like him but your not sure your ready to be in a relationship that way when you are you could have told him or you could just forget about him now what youve got to do is the say thing tell him you like him as a friend maybe more but your not ready for a relationship...

You don't have to know 100% whether someone is fully compatible with you to go on a date with them. Do not make that mistake now, nor later. Dating is harmless if you let it be.

You should be able to date several people, even, while you're looking for someone with apparent high compatibility and later moving to exclusive dating.

Until you're exclusive, date for fun, and BE fun. Pay attention to the little things (though most people are on their best behavior in early dates, so you may not get a true feel for who they are for months).

Stay out bed, be attentive as a date, and don't make it more than it is.
