Re: dance

dance has been documented for a long time, but not as long as it has been happening. from what we understand of dance and the way it functions in societies it may have been happening as long as humans have had a reason to do it, from celebration, comuunication, marking a special time, place or event to sheer exhilaration of movement.

it has been suggested that dance may first have occured alongside first craft, or making items for reasons other than survival such as decorations. other suggestions say it may have started off as non verbal signals and may predate verbal language.

the point is though.m we will never know for sure when where who what did the first dance. dance is ever changing and evolving and becuse of this its hard to pin down exactly what we mean by the word dance anyhow.

hope that helps you some
