Bob Barr is a Republican. He recently threw his hat in the ring as a Libertarian . He got the nomination because of name recognition only . The "red headed chick " ;Mary Ruwalt is a long time Libertarian . She had run for the party nomination before in 1983 .Perhaps she thought she was entitled . Barr was a major player in Congress and is best known for chairing the Clintoon Impeachment. He will serve as the Nader of 2008 ;syphoning enough of McCain's votes to give the election to Obama .

I recently saw an interview of Barr on the Glenn Beck show. Basically for this election the Libertarian Party differs from the Republicans on the Iraqi War continuation and with the Democrats on the numerous welfare programs existing and their domestic stubbornness to drill for oil. Libertarians are actually truer to conservatism views than the majority of Republicans of late, with exception perhaps to Ron Paul whom I think should had been on the Libertarian ticket if not for his social conservatism.
