And to think it took Obama 20 L-O-N-G years to disassociate himself from this man! 20 years! But has he really?! Not two months or two years but **Twenty** years of this. Imho the messages would be well ingrained into one's way of thinking by now! Think about it, what still carries over into Obama's way of thinking from all of this, no matter what he would say to us now that he's running for prez! People do not tend to forget what they have learned 20 years ago and especially from the not-too-distant past. It could be very dangerous thinking -- not good for this country!

However, for some, even admitting Blacks have ever been wronged or that plots against them to suffer has occurred is fact rather than myth, i.e. J Edgar Hoover, is out of the question. In part that's why we have civil rights. When I hear opponents of Obama via Rev Wrights remarks, which is from a fringe few and mostly just Sky (I never hear this in person), I hear objections for reasons that are not relative to Obama's bid for presidency. BTW I'm thankful that Wright and those of John Hagee's ilk are not running for president. Where the Rev is wrong is that he doesn't give the people he named their due success, albeit I still can't figure out what the hell Condeleeza's paid to do. I think her title should be master of the obvious. I know she's a bright woman, but watching her reminds me of how on averge, Hillary only receives eight percent of the African community vote, yet in TV spots when she's campaigning she always has four or five Blacks strategically place behind her platform.

How about this? There are times I'm not proud of America. I think "damn America" we are in a war that I want out of and gas prices are going up again, etc... Personally, I think Obama gave the greatest follow up speech to address racism in America I've ever heard and it took a Black man to give it. He's exactly what America needs to help our county to reach beyond racism. Seeing him get this far into the primaries, does makes me proud of how far we, Americans, are maturing at least in that aspect.

That Lee Greenwood song is so beautifully written. One of my favorites also.

Hilary's former pastor was sentenced for 3 years last month for molesting a little girl. So when does the lynching of Hilary begin?

UTICA —

When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified.

“As a minister of God, you got on the stand and you lied,” Dwyer told Procanick, the 54-year-old former pastor of Resurrection Assembly of God church on Kirkland Avenue.

A jury found Procanick guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

If the Civil War was fought to end slavery, why was the Emancipation Proclamation 2 years after the start of the war? Could it be that it was a states / federal rights issue first?

And was it not a REPUBLICAN - Lincoln that set the slaves free.

As to Rev Wright :

Notice his selective disgust for America and Israel.
__________________________________________

- slavery, yes wrong. Where did the Europeans get slaves from? Why is he not saying G.... damn Africa?

African slave trade - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
---------------------------

Terrorism ? Why does he not mention the first WTC bombing? or HUSSEIN's terrorism of Iraq?

"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians"

---- so Israel is a terrorist state?
Israel has never been attacked from within and with out?

Hiroshima, Nagasaki - unfortunate but a decision had to be made:

From Guadacanal alone: [ 6 months ]
US casualties 6,000 of 60,000 including 1600 dead; Japan casualties 24,000 of 36,000.

Maybe that is ONE reason why WW2 is shorter than OEF / OIF.

--------------------------------------------------------

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three strike law, and then wants us to sing God Bless America…no, no, no

Not God bless America, God damn America"

- so who made drug users use? The government made me do it? Come on...
- And are we just let repeat offenders keep on doing their thing to innocent people?
Where is the social justice in that?

--------------------------------------------

"For every one Oprah, a billionaire, you've got 5 million blacks who out of work. For every one Colin Powell, a millionaire, you've got 10 million blacks who cannot read. For every one Condoskeeza Rice, you've got 1 million in prison. For every one Tiger Woods..."

Church builds $1 million mansion for Wright :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Business

Is the the Rev Wright helping Blacks read or get a job or rehab someone from prison?

------------------------------------------------------

And this is the guy that Obama defends? That really should make one question Obama's decision making capabilities if not Obama's [hidden] ideology.

------------------------------------------------------------

Oh if the Rev wants to mention a TRUE injustice that is a fact

At first I wanted to buy the Rev out of context and give Obama the benefit of the doubt
especially since it came out right after Hillary said she was going to drop an Obama bombshell if he ever got the lead. BUT then all the other stuff about his ties to the Weather underground and stuff.....I dunno if I can trust him any more than I trust Hillary.

If you want to mention racism, how about this? It is racism at its worst when someone claims their past actions/speech should not be criticized because of their RACE.

Among other things, some business matters. However the effort yielded from the Civil War eventually ended slavery. It took two years to fashion the proclamation because the uniting of the country. Much like Congress voted for the United States to become independent of Great Britain July 2, 1776 (celebrated on July 4th), however the Constitution was written in 1787 and ratified a year later.

Lincoln was a Whig originally, then a Republican during the Civil War. Which I doubt seriously that he would even recognize the same Republican party as is today. Democrats took the mantle championing social reform and minority rights, mainly from the 1960's onward, although some would say it started with Roosevelt in the 30's.

Probably in Florida, Rev Wright is on the ballots. Floridians ever since Jeb Bush took over seem to mess up every election with something new. They may even have John Hagee on their ballots. Yikes! If you live in any other State just refrain from a write-in vote. However as to Obama who is running for President...

Obama is supportive of the Israeli State remaining as is; right to existence. Obama understands the rights the Israeli government has to protect (defend) itself. Jews have always had a continuous presence in Israel, although the migration populace swelled significantly due to the holocaust and eventually brought about the current government. The Palestinian/Israeli conflict-relations issue has been subject of every U.S. presidency going back some fifty plus years. Carter is commonly understood to be the least outwardly supportive of Israel. Clinton (Bill), backed off his pro-Israel support after entering office causing concern among Jewish communities here in the States. Bush, like many politicians before him, has made a late cosmetic pilgrimage to Israel in hopes of striking up the peace band. Personally one of my favorite presidents that held strong support for Israel (and Jews in general) was LBJ, whom my grandmother knew as a collegian. As an American, my hope is that Obama (or any of the candidates) make good on their campaigned support of Israel. I say this not only in protection of Jews living in Israel, but knowing that the Israeli govt made accommodations for a very long time trying to integrate Palestinians to be productive in society. Of course that didn't work out so well when the PLO stirred the masses and called for the annihilation of Israel. But L-rd knows the Israeli govt tried. In conclusion, Obama knows that the State of Israel is an ally that bolsters our US presence in the Mid-East region.
