What do I do about my Underage Consumption Ticket.

I was over at a friends house watching the Tennesse vs. Memphis basketball game last night. People were drinking and I was offered a beer I'm 18 but I take pride in my health so I've never really had a beer before. I drank about half of it and decided it wasn't for me so I got rid of it. After the game I drove home but was pulled over for a license plate violation. The cop had asked me if i had been drinking I was honest and told him I had about a half a beer. so he gave me all the field sobriety tests and I passed with flying colors. then he gave me a breathalizer this is all taking place in South Dakota by the way. I blew a .006 which is practically nothing but I still was issued an underage consumption ticket. I'm a college student and really don't have the money to pay for the charges of this ticket. is there anything I can do to get it dismissed? or avoid paying the citation? I'd appreciate any help thanks..

You can go and ask to fill out an application to make payment arrangements or you can ask for community service. I don't know how much they cooperate with you with hours if you have to be in school.

In some courts they will allow you to do so many hours of community service and have the case dismissed ( there will still be fees and maybe even a fine) but they will allow you to make payments,

You want to try and get it dismissed if possible, so you will not have a record following you

Yeah you can ask about getting it expunged. But you still have to do what they agree to.
