    Warrant for Misdemeanor in a different state.
    I have a warrant for a misdemeanor from a few months ago. The cop called me and said they will tell me how much I have to pay soon and that I would have to fly there and go to the police station and pay a bail and then I would have a court date. He said if I didn't pay the warrant or bail I could be extradited.

    Do I have to fly to California (I am from Indiana and I am a college student with very little money) to pay the bail or can I do it some other way? Also, do I have to attend the court date or can I plead a different way because I know sometimes people don't show up for their dates. What are the chances of me being extradited? Does that mean if I didn't do anything they asked that I would have a warrant for arrest and if I ever got pulled over here in Indiana I would be arrested? Thank you for your help!

    You of course failed to say what the misdemeanor is for, So for many crimes you are required to appear in court, not merely pay a fine. But it is possibe, your best option is to hire an attorney in that area, to arrange the bail, or to arrange a plea deal just to pay a fine. ** or to get charges offf would be even better.

    If you get pulled over, you will be detained while they check with California, it can take 30 min or so often. So you will be held in the police car till California decides if they will have you held this time or not.
    Most likely they will not, but they can detain you every time you are stopped.

    If you don't appear, then conceivably a warrant for your arrest could be issued. How much trouble they'll go through extraditing you depends on the severity of the offense. You did say it was a misdemeanor, right? That being the case, it's unlikely that they'd expend much time and resources extraditing you over 2000 miles. Actually, I'm not sure that, even if you were arrested on a warrant, whether they'd bother extraditing you all the way back to California for a misdemeanor charge.
