i want to become a cop

I am 23 years old and i was stupid about 3 years ago and used one of my friends credit cards i was arrested and had to go to court and i got it all deffered i have nothing on my record, it was a dumb mistake and i have paid the price. Is there any way i can still be a cop if ive messed up but i dont have anything on my record?

There will be record of your arrest. You will have an uphill battle. How much did you steal?

i dont have any other type of record no drug use i wass a college athlete and graduated in may just made a mistake

This would have been a misdemeanor.

The police and any company that requires a national background search will still be able to see the arrest.

You will still be able to be a cop. But remember for any one opening there is often 50 to 100 applications. So you most likely will have to start at smaller departments
