Underage Consumption In Murfreesboro

Alright I got an underage consumption in a bar in Murfreesboro, TN last night. I got handed a beer and was immediately jerked up by a bouncer and taken to the front where there were two police officers waiting for someone to do this. They took me outside and told me my options where take the citation or go to jail so I didn't really argue with the officer about the citation. The citation is for underage consumption but I really didn't drink anything out of the beer I just got caught holding it. I am a full time student at UT Knoxville and just got offered an internship two weeks ago with the company I want to work for when I graduate. What do I need to do about this citation and does anyone know if this will affect my internship?

You need to hire an attorney, and have them arrange if possible a diversion program so all charges are dropped after you do either community service or probation ( or both)

Please understand, you had it in your hand and you were in a bar, so a judge will easily find you guilty

You will find this is ( in a college town) very common crime. most likely there will be dozens of young people in court for that the same day.

That's what I was afraid of, are there any chances of this getting thrown out on a technicality such as the officer not showing up that day?
