theft under 5000

please help about 2 months ago me and two friends stole 2 tires from a car dealer we see now how stupid it was the cops keep phoning me wanting me to come in and talk to them I already went once and they said i was being investigated for theft under 5000. im 17 my friends are 17 and ones 18. do we have to make statements what should we say??? we live in bc. canada.
if we do not go to court will it go on my record? the cop said that the dealer probally wont charge us because it is harder to charge a youth. but will make us pay it off some how but if we have full time jobs what will they do?

No you do not have make any statements. And, if you do, it should be truthful. It sounds like the cops have their suspicions but not enough proof.

That being said, you really should go to your friends and tell them they should admit their error and offer restitution.
