    Would anyone know in the NY state area can one become a CPA with a criminal record?

    Have you considered contacting the department of consumer affairs in your state. They most likely have a website and an e-mail to send them your question.

    I believe this question is related to the topic of moral turpitude. I believe moral turpitude convictions will bar someone from gaining certain licenses to practice, such as a cpa.

    Hello NY:

    Ms is correct. If your conviction involved a crime of moral turpitude, then I doubt you'll get certified. However, if you're just an ordinary drug pusher, then you'll be fine.
