Shoplifting no arrest

I was caught shoplifting in Florida (8$ good).security guard took me to room, click my pict, noted License, name, adress& Ph num, No cops called,no arrest.

they told me that they will go for a Trespassing notice and if i found again in the store, i will be arrested... let me know, will police get involved and crime record get generated when they issue a trespassing notice. also any court

If i get a trespasing notice, do i need to go to the police station or to the Court for authorization...

.. i am very tensed and i know i did the worst thing i can do with myself

$8?.. They were quite right to kick you out, but it all sounds rather heavy-handed to me considering what a tiny amount of money was involved.
If you are going to steal something, take something worth stealing!

I think they are treating you as a soft-target. You shouldn't have done it, and they are well within their rights to ban you from the store, but I wouldn't get too uptight about it - some shoplifters are stealing $800 a day! $8.. trust me, the security guards steal more than that.

A trespass notice is probably just a civil matter, so it's not a big deal - it's the same as you applying to stop your next-door neighbor from walking across your back yard.
