Probation Violation

My brother was sentenced to 5 years probation in October 2007. He was recently violated an altercation between the PO and for not having a stable address.

After he was released in Jan he didn't have anyplace to stay and finally got an apt about a month ago but provided the PO with bills from the hotels he was staying at during that time.

When he was a child he was diagnosed with bi polar and a mental disease. After the age of 21 he no longer had medical care so he was unable to stay on his medication. He clearly exhibits a mental disorder but is unable to afford treatment. He asked the PO to refer him to a program but she never did.

Can his mental disorder or his proof of hotel stays help his case?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Hello I:

Help for what? They're not gonna let him off probation, and they're not going to cut him any breaks because of his illness. If he needs treatment, he's going to have to seek it himself.

I will agree with excon, no, it has no effect on his probatoin, and it is not the PO's job to get him into any program not ordered by the court.
