probation officers opionion

Thank you for your support.
The probation officer and the judge know that he is on Methadone treatment. They did want a medical note from his doctor, he will get that for next Friday, What I need to know is should he have a public defender with him at all times? and can the probation officer place him in jail? for the type of treatment.

Hello tom:

The probation officer can pretty much do what they want with him. IF you can, and the public defender is willing to go along, you betcha I'd have him with whomever we're talking about here.

The only thing about your question is there is NO treatment available for him in jail, and if they both know about it, I can't imagine they can violate him for it.

In MD, the PO does not have the power to put anyone in jail, only a judge can order something like that. When you ask whether he should have a public defender with him at all times, do you mean while he is in the probation office or what? In my state, public defenders do trials and that is it.
