As for as having it explunged maybe in 5 to 8 more years, most courts want to see 8 to 10 years of no problems, work history and perhaps more education.
As for as being a police officer, yes , you won't get on to the largest highest paying departments, they get about 100 applications for any one opening. so any problem can keep you out of them.
But there are 100's of smaller departments, with lower pay and less benifits.
