Now what?

Nephew's girlfriend was charged with use/drug paraphernalia 1st. I have found out that she is on 3 years probation for shoplifting a coat a year and a half ago. Her arraignment is today. What can we expect out of this? The nightmare keeps going !

This does not even sound like a girl I would want dating my nephew.

Convicted of Shoplifting, and now drug use? What’s next?

What to expect next? Why not talk with her lawyer? The lawyer will be able to help you.

It can go anyway from jail time to probation, etc.

Plus, it makes a difference where she lives.

If she is still on probation and is convicted of drug use/possession, then she'll probably see some jail time. Judges aren't usually very kind to people who blatantly violate the conditions of their probation. Refraining from drug use/possession would certainly be a universal condition of any probation.
