    Misdemeanor probation
Can it always be transferred to a different state and how long does it usually take?

If you go to the top of this thread there is an entire explanation of how probation works.

Again, laws differ from state to state. Also know the difference between misdemeanor & felony probation. This information is only regarding misdemeanor probation. Misdemeanor probation is no longer transferred as of last year. You will be put on a mail-in procedure. Usually with a compelling reason your probation counselor can make this happen the very same day. You must have a forwarding address & phone # (familyly/person/names) where you will be residing and proof of such. Obviously it is not required to have a job (as yet) in the forwarding state you're going to. Important: depending on the condition of your probation,i.e: if you're on probation for one charge and caught another charge... etc). In that instance, you're not going anywhere, especially since you will be involved in lots of court dates. It will be up to your probation counselor or flat out denied. In most normal instances it can happen (especially if you've been doing what you were suppose to do in the first place). Remember, once this happens, you are still on probation & your conditions still must be met in the same specified time frame as your court order.

    Hello Bengie:

You have very limited experience in Florida. Your experiences DON'T carry over to the rest of the country.

We WELCOME new people here who give GOOD advice. Those of us who've been here a while pride ourselves on the quality of advice we provide. In fact, if you want the LAW, THIS is the site where you'll get it.

Certainly, you wouldn't want us to GUESS about the law, would you?? NOT if YOUR future depended on what you learned here.

We're still waiting for you. If you continue to give marginal advice, you'll be attacked by us, like we already did.

    Yes, you will.
