Legal Age Difference for Sexual Intercourse

My boyfriend will be turning 21 in 2 weeks and I am 17 and wont be turning 18 for 7 months. Can we get in trouble ((statutory rape)) if we have sex since he is over 3 years older than me?

The problem isn't that he is three years older than you, it is that you probably are not of legal age and he is considered an adult.

In most states (not all I believe) the legal age is 18, male or female.

i'm in missouri and all the things i've read say that at 17 i'm at the legal age of consent. but i'm still worried cuz i heard that even if i am 17 if he is more than 3 years older then its classified stat rape.

Most states go by either up to 4 yrs older or any age older.
I do believe you are okay with him.
If I find a site that says otherwise I will let you know.

HI NH, I was not aware that the number of years between the two was of any difference except that both had to be of legal age, now I do.
