Hi,

My fiance will be released from prison in June 2008. He is incarcerated in Maryland and I live in North Carolina. He has a 3 year probation period to serve. Is it possible for him to request to have his probation transferred before being released? He has already put me down as his home plan. We are planning to get married as soon as he is released or I will go marry him before he is released if it will make things easier. He does have aunts and cousins in this area as well as I don't know if I am considered family since we are not legally married yet. I have a great job and have lived where I live for 4 1/2 years. Also how could he get a job before being released from prison? I've read that if employment is secured it makes things easier as well.

Sure. It's not transferred, though, because it hasn't even started yet. He should contact his case manager.
