when asked the question on job application were you convicted of a felony in the past seven years can you answer no if you were convicted 12 years ago

Yes, they asked about the last 7 years. If it was 1 second over 7 years I would leave it out.

You can answer no to that. I know when I was in a position to hire/fire, that question was asked on the applications and my agency's background checks only went back seven years for felony records. Good luck to you.
