    Hello s:

If you HAVE collision coverage for your own car, you probably have it for the borrowed one. So, instead of trying to READ it yourself, I'd just make a claim. If you're not covered, they'll tell you.

But, you're probably covered. Collision insurance is insuring YOU, and not your car.

And, if you aren't covered, you won't be in any legal trouble. You had insurance on your car.

As long as you had permission to use your friend's car, there is no legal implication.

But if neither he nor you are covered then you will be on the hook for the cost of repairs.

    Well

You will get a ticket for driving with no insurance ( you drove a car without insurance) ** assume the police officer gave you a ticket

You and the owner of the car can be sued for any and all damages ( unless your car insurance will pay for it)

Your drivers license can be suspended until any and all damages are paid or payment plan in place.

The way I read this is that the OP did have insurance, but it may not cover driving someone else's car. Its not clear whether the onwner of the car had insurance. I don't sww the OP breaking any laws.

Well here in GA, the insurance is on the car, if THAT car did not have liability insurance that is against the law, in fact a fairly serious law. Here if the car being driven is not insured, we tow it into impound and it stays there till it gets insurance. Also the driver is charged with no insurance and it carries a fine of @ 1000 dollars.

The fact they may or may not have insurance on another car has nothing to do with it what so ever.
