Anyone heard of "Buying Off" a Probation
Here is some quick basic info. My boyfriend was convicted of the crime iabout 17 years ago which was attempted murder and robbery. He served way more time than he should have considering the circumstances of the crime. He was released this May and now has 4 years probation. He was what you could call a model prisoner - only received 2 writeups (for cigarettes) and attended almost every program/class/etc. he could. He wants to transfer his probation to FL as he has good job opportunities and a potential new life here. A few questions ( I read the sticky on How to transfer the probation) How long should he wait to transfer out of state? Would it be possible to return to Maine every year for 4 months for work? He heard others say you can buy off or buy out probation in FL, has anyone heard of such a thing? Thank you so much for helping.

    Hello a:

He can transfer his probation. I wrote a thing about it recently. You can read it here at the top of this forum on a sticky note. No, he won't be able to go back and forth. No, I've never heard of a probation buyout.
