Jon,

IF you don't have a lawyer, you better get one, NOW.

Hopefully this 17 year old will receive the sentence he is being tried for if guilty. Armed robbery is no joke and should receive the maximum sentence.

I wouldn't want my children in a store where an armed robbery went bad. Time to pay the piper.

Hello jonj:

Every state is different, and every situation is different. This is a question for his lawyer.

Yes get an attorney, each state in the US has its own guidelines, for example since this was a armed robbery, some states will have a mim sentence since a weapon was used.

If a reduced sentence is your goal, a plea bargain is probably your best bet.
