Transfer of Probation Concern

Read the previous entries about probation transfer. However, can anyone tell me if the severity of the charges change between states? Lets say NY considers one crime a misdemeanor while PA (state transferring to) considers same crime a felony. Will they leave as is or will it be changed?

Whatever crime you were convicted of in say, Pennsylvania, and your probation was transferred to a different state - the state that convicted you would be the prevailing probation. The probation has just been transferred - not the conviction reduced or upped. The other state has no say in the conviction.

You are already convicted, the charge or the punishment is not changed. The other state merely administers the probation for the other state.
