Magistrate Hearing

Hello. I've recently been informed that I am being taken to court for a credit card debt of roughly $1,400. The company that bought the debt did inform me in September via letter that they intended to do this and to avoid it I should call them and establish "agreeable" payment arrangements. They would not hear of anything other than $800 up front and $100 payments montly after that. I'm at the point now financially where (through loans of family members and girlfriend) I would be able to pay them $125 a month. However, the $800 initial payment is out of the question. I just don't have it. I don't have a bank account and my car is a co-sign with my grandmother. I know they could garnish wages, but what about my current expenses which I'm paying on? Would they garnish entire checks so that I'm unable to even pay the current bills that I am paying on? Thanks for any help.
