Interest & late fees on closed account.
I live in Florida and am being taken to a pre trail conference for an unpaid credit card. The account was closed back in 2007 by the creditor. Card max limit was $500, balance on the card is currently $1100 and change. The representing agency suing me on the companies behalf said I have to pay $1800 and change. I was told it was in late fees and interest, that was compounded 70 cents per day. As you can see the bulk of this debt is late fee, interest, and according to the lawyers, legal fees. What I'd like to know, is am I still legally obligated to pay any interest and late fees on an account that was closed in mid 2007?

SOL(statutes of limitations) runs from DOLA.

Find your state's SOL here - Statutes of limitation for delinquent debt (Page 2 of 2)
