Credit cards.

Does anyone know of a credit card company that would pre approve some like me. I have a loan out for my car, but the first payment isn't due for a few more weeks so only the balance is on my credit report. I still don't have a score or anything for them to base anything on. I've tried a few credit cards but I keep getting denied and the reason is there's nothing in the credit bureau. I have no credit at all and I need to build some up. I've been told that the best way to do it is thru big purchases and paying them off on time. So, I have a new car in my name but I'd still like a credit card. Any suggestions?

First, you need to stop applying for now. Those multiple inquiries - with no resulting account set up are hurting your score.

You need to wait 6-12 months and see what offers come in the mail.

Prompt payments on the car loan will achieve your goal of building up your credit score.

There are some banks that will issue a secured card. This is a card tied to a bank account that is limited to the amount in the account. Such cards can help build your credit history.
