Credit Card Debt Overseas

I have an outstanding credit card debt overseas (in Hong Kong). What are the laws for payment? At this moment I do not have a job over there any more and moved back to Japan. However I still have some debt on my AMEX and VISA cards.

What are teh laws against delinquent credit card debt? As I am starting to be late on my payments...is it worth just not paying it and have it written off? Not sure what the best solution is but I don't think I can make these payments at this time.

Thanks.

The term" writing it off" is a term used when the cc company knows they can not collect payment it does not mean you are off the hook for the debt with that being said why not try to make payment arrangements? I am not sure about overseas debt maybe someone can advise you

I dotn know how strict is Japan's CC Companies. But here in my 3rd world country, you will be blacklisted. You can no longer acquire any credit cards.
