Collection Agency on Credit Report. I paid Pride Co.

Months ago I owed my garbage company (Pride Disposal) $140. I was getting calls from a collection company about it. Because I wanted my garbage service ASAP I paid Pride $140.. Still the Collection Agency called. I called Pride and asked them to call the Agency and tell them this bill had been paid. I never heard anymore from them.

Recently I saw a copy of my credit report and that collection company has me down there owing them $140. Now I am not sure what to do. Should I just ask the CB to validate the debt? And what would that mean--would the Agency have to have recent written instructions from Pride Disposal to Collect the debt? That they could not get.

First you do have the receipt where you paid, correct ?

But you demand the credit reporting agency, and go ahead and check all threee. remove it, send them proof it ws s pad in full.

Write the collection agency, send them proof the debt was paid, and demand they stop all collection activies, and inform them they will be held liable for all costs of correcting this.

Write the disposal comapny inform them this is happening and tell them that they can be held liable for the actions of thier collection company for posting false info on the credit report.
