Iron on transfer books

I am searchign for the iron on transfer books that were popular in the late 80's. They used to be sold by Hobby Lobby and Micheal's, but I have not seen any in a really long time. Anyone know where I could find some current ones? (Besides e-bay)

OO I remember those!

There are a few interesting booklets on Amazon (type 'iron on transfers' into the search bar - I got about two per page :-\ Specifically Here and here). Dover is the usual suspect as far as making non-copyrighted designs that artists and crafters can use.

Also nowadays, it's common to see homemade versions. Hewlett Packard, specifically, makes iron-on transfer paper that you can use in your home printer. Just choose which picture you want (or make your own!) and then print it using the special paper (make sure you know which way to load your paper so it comes out on the right side). Follow the instructions on the back of the box to transfer it to your cloth and ta-da! A homemade transfer!

I use Word to arrange the pictures (I do multiple t-shirts at a time in order to not waste paper), leaving the least amount of oddly-shaped white space that I can. You get about 10 pages per box, and it's not too expensive, but old habits die hard.

One problem with the homemade transfers is that the object then can't be washed too many times thereafter. Instead of wearing one of my t-shirts and then washing it, I usually wear them aroudn 3 - 4 times to have the transfer last longer. Even though the box says it's okay for washing as long as you turn it inside out, I find that the colors rub off easily. Probably hand wash is your best bet.

So, I hope you can find something that works!

Best of luck,

I have also been looking for the iron-on transfer books and most are out of print. I hand paint them on fabric. I have ordered used books from Ebay and Google. Some are like new and others are not. I have had some luck at finding new copies at the following book publisher websites:
Powell's Books - Used, New, and Out of Print
DoverPublications.com/
Books-A-Million Online Bookstore : Buy Discount Books Magazines Audio : Booksamillion .com
Good luck and if you find a good source please let me know.
