Does it have a hook looking part off of the bobbin with a home in it, and a slide or plate on the side of the bobbim that acts as the tennsion

Chuck I am to put the bobbin [plastic] straight down from the top of the machine[slide the plate toward the front] in this metal holder[ called the bobbin case] that tells me to pull the thread into notch, draw it under the tension spring and back into slot. After I draw about 3 inches of thread diagonally across the bobbin, I am to close slide plate with the thread in slot between the throat plate and slide. I know I sound and probably am, dumb, but I can't seem to get this! I see no tension spring[at least I don't know what I am seeing?] I am used to machines with the bobbin being thread from the under side. This one is really baffling to me. Can you help me with what I have given you? If you can, you are a genius thanks

Does your machine have a screw like device that you can put the thread thru...not all machines have the wire hook.

It has at the left where the slide plate is a screw that goes up when I slide the plate back to drop the bobbin in and goes down when I close the slide plate.

I forgot to say: this "screw" has a round head and no holes: in fact when the screw is up the plate under the needle is very loose.
