What is meant by PLC (commonly used in Britain along with Corporate Bodies e.g.. Lloyds Bank PLC

A horrible, yucky, scam directed, MLM. Downlines and all.
Stay away from them. They use this to hide from the court.

I did a search; I will believe you too but I got this definition from 6 different sources!
[a public company is a corporation--maybe the UK doesn't 't mind obfuscatiing]
