Toddler-friendly recipes

My son is two, and while he has a very good appetite and eats everything I've ever put in front of him, I need some new recipes. How many times can I possibly make him ravioli or mac and cheese??

The only catch is that the recipes must be toddler friendly, but not look "kid-ish", they must look like something Daddy and I would eat. My son adores my roasted chicken and can pack away steak like a champ. He has a very adult palette.

Thanks for any and all help!!

How about :-

Chicken nuggets and Chips
Pasta with Bacon
Sausage and Mash
Soups
Also Pasta with Tomatoe sauce and vegetables.

LadyJane agrees: He loves pasta in any shape and form, but is not crazy about chicken nuggets. I will try the pasta with bacon and sausage and mash, though. Thanks!!

Your welcome

As he loves pasta, you can vary it for him, such as :-

Pasta with cream sauce, onions and tuna fish
Pasta with tomato sauce and mince meat (bolognese)
Pasta with cream and tomatoes with peas, bacon, and mushrooms

Sausage and Mash do that as another meal alone.
Always give him vegetables ok.

Also chicken breats in a casarole with vegetables is nice.

Thank you so much for the sugeestions, as they all sound very yummy!! I am a big fan of pasta wth bolognese sauce, but I have yet to try it. I think I'll make that tonight.

My son is a wonderful eater and actually asks for veggies, his favourites being peas and lima beans.

Hey LadyJane - Did you have any trouble when your little one was a baby? I have a ten month old who also has a great appetite, he loves veggies and fruit but for some reason doesn't like anything that has even a small amount of red meat in it...

Have tried to disguise it in mash and things like that but haven't had any success.. any ideas?

Two of my favorite kids recipes are:

Corn dog muffins
Mix together some boxed corn bread mix, add chopped up hotdogs ( sliced, then cut in fourths), and mix in some shredded cheese. Put the mix in a muffin pan and cook according to the directions on the corn bread box. Little ones love these and they are yummy for adults too.

Mini Muffin Pizza
Use English muffins for crust and put tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese on top. Bake in the oven for a few minutes.

homemade chicken pot pie (can make from leftover rotisserie chix).

beef stew (ours calls it soup-ah).

chicken enchilladas (call them cheesy chilladas).

omlette stuffed with leftover steak, cheese, and fried potatoes.

i make beef brisket in the oven and my son will eat it often if i call it steak. you can mix it with barbeque sauce or not, eat on a sandwich or not.

fried chicken tenders are great (again with bbq or ketchup if you want)... can roast potatoes, do green beans or asparagus or broccoli on the side... ours will eat them all.
