unopened cream cheese

How long will an unopened package of cream cheese last after expiration date, and is it safe to use?
I need to know ASAP... baking for a party for Oct 31st.

I wouldnt recommend using an expired cream cheese even if it is unopened.
You never know what could happen...

If it is not firm or runny or moldy or anything that doesn't look or smell like it is fresh I really wouldn't trust it.
