    Sharpening a miter saw blade
Does anyone know how to sharpen a 10" miter saw blade? Is it easy to do? Or is it easy to mess up :) Kind of on a tight budget so would like to avoid buying a new one if I can. Thanks!

Not easy to do properly and easy to mess up, especially if it is carbide tipped. Are you thinking of doing this by hand or do you have a blade sharoening jig?

I was hoping I might be able to find a Dremmel tool bit to use in sharpening it (seems they have a bit for just about everything). If not, I would entertain doing it by hand unless it will cause more harm then good. It is not carbide tipped that I am aware of. Thanks!

OK, here is some info to consider. The teeth alternate pitching slightly left then right. A combo blade will have a 3rd pitch. You must duplicate each angle on each tooth and take away the same amount of metal from each tooth. Otherwise you will get some teeth overheating and lose the temper. It is almost impossible to do a good job without the correct sharpening jig and tools. A new blade can be bought At Home Depot for about $15 or sharpened at the hardware stoe for about $7. It may be money well spent. Dull tools are dangerous because you need to use more pressue on them. I'd rather see you be safe.
