noises within structure

I hear noises within the structure. I hear these noises in the attic and within the walls. Sometimes the sounds are very loud and disturbing. Sometimes it sounds as if someone is banging on the studs or something inside the walls. At first I thought it was the attic fans. But they have been replaced and I still hear the noises. The noises are knocks and thumps within the walls and in the attic. I don't think that the sounds are from squirrels or any other animal getting caught up there. DO you have any advice about this matter. Doors are not sticking and i don't see any cracks anywhere. I'm at a lost as to what it may be.

Have you noticed the sounds occuring at certain times when certain things are going on?

Often, when water (could even be just the cold or just the hot line) is flowing through the pipes, air trapped in the line can make the pipes rattle and bounce against each other and knock against the other stuff in the walls or attic. I've seen cases where a tree limb rubbing against an eave, wall or roof... in the wind...can make sounds that seem to come from everywhere (or at least come from somewhere far from the tree). You may be hearing the movement of birds at the eave or on the roof.

Do you hear the noise during the day? Only at night? Where you live may hold some clues. Uh... do you... uhhh...believe in ghosts?
