Its hard to say because you would have to know how many cubic feet are in a ton. Since the size of the gravel can vary by location its hard to say. How much does 25 ton fill ?
You can use that as a basic formula. Lets say a truck bed 12ft by 40ft and 4 ft deep = 25 ton. From there you can get a rough idea. Other then that part of the equation is missing.

I need 30 tons to fill a 21x26 area 12" deep, if that helps any. I didn't figure this, the guy at the gravel place did, I just want to know how much it will fill the area inch wise. (relating to my original question)

    Looks like homework ?

    Here is your answer:
    21 x 26 = Total
30 divided by total= tons per cubic ft.

with that you can solve this.

If the gravel is anything like concrete you could use the formula that a Cubic yard of concrete will cover 20.25 Sq. feet. So how many sq feet do you need, you can find that out by using the sides of your playground divided by to to get the cubic feet. Then use the amount the truck will hold.

The area and tonnage is already known. It's a matter of the OP applying it to the question that is asked.

(quote) I need 30 tons to fill a 21x26 area 12" deep (end quote)

I still think its homework.. lol
